About ASUS

ASUS takes its name from Pegasus, the winged horse in Greek mythology that represents wisdom and knowledge. ASUS embodies the strength, purity, and adventurous spirit of this fantastic creature, and ascends to new heights with each new product it creates.

Over the last few decades, Taiwan has become a frontrunner in the global Information Technology industry, and this is mainly due to the success of ASUS as a company. From humble beginnings as a small motherboard manufacturer, the company has grown into a leading technology company in Taiwan with over 12,500 employees worldwide. ASUS makes products in almost every area of Information Technology too, including PC components, peripherals, notebooks, tablets, servers and smartphones.

ASUS ensures that innovation is at the forefront of their products, and this objective has served to further the company’s success. Having unveiled the PadFone to a rapturous audience at Computex 2011, ASUS chairman Jonney Shih raised the bar once more by announcing the TAICHI™ and Transformer Book dual-purpose ultraportables. IFA 2016, this year, also saw ASUS launch a series of impressive gadgets – most notably creating the “world’s lightest and slimmest full HD portable monitor”, the ASUS ZenScreen™, and the ZenWatch 3™, their newest smartwatch which is one of the first wearables to use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 2100 chipset.

The ZenScreen™ is an innovative device which allows users to transport and enjoy a 15.6” Full HD screen anywhere, revolutionising the idea of standard portable devices which tend to compromise screen size for portability. It is also 60-percent slimmer than the usual portable displays, and has a USB-C connection.

In 2011, ASUS presented a dazzling array of innovative products that surpassed users’ imaginations as the world entered a new era of cloud computing. This year, with the launch of their new Zen series of devices, ASUS has once again succeeded in merging high performance with premium design quality.

This visionary approach is the main reason ASUS is able to deliver high-end innovation and design to all, and the reason for the company’s widespread acclaim. ASUS products won 4,256 international awards and accolades in 2013 – that’s over 11 a day, every day. ASUS has consistently achieved significant year-on-year growth in terms of the consumer notebook units which have been shipped too, and closed 2011 on a high with revenues hitting US$11.9 billion.
